Prepare the Pen

• Wash your hands thoroughly.
• Check the pen to make sure it's not expired and the solution is clear (it should not be cloudy or have particles).
• Remove the cap from the pen and then attach a new needle by screwing it onto the pen.

Prime the Pen

• Hold the pen with the needle pointing upwards.
• Dial the dose selector to the lowest dose (this may be 0.25 mg if you're starting).
• Press the button to ensure a drop of medication appears at the needle tip. This primes the pen and removes any air bubbles.

Set the Dose

• Turn the dose selector to the prescribed dose as directed by your doctor. Most people start at 0.25 mg once a week, then increase the dose gradually (usually to 0.5 mg, 1 mg, and then 2.4 mg over time, depending on your weight loss goals and how your body responds).

Choose the Injection Site

• Zepbound can be injected into the thigh, abdomen, or upper arm. Rotate the sites each week to avoid irritation at the injection site.

Administer the Injection

• Pinch the skin around the injection site.
• Insert the needle at a 90-degree angle into the pinched skin.
• Press the injection button to deliver the medication.
• Hold the button down for about 5-10 seconds to ensure the full dose is administered.
• Release the pinched skin and remove the needle from your skin.

Dispose of the Needle

• Dispose of the needle in a sharps container. Do not throw it in the trash.
• Recap the pen and store it as instructed, usually in the refrigerator.
